The Honourable Justice Peter Bryson

 

The Honourable Justice Peter Bryson studied Classics at the University of King’s College and Dalhousie, and read law at Christ Church, Oxford, and Dalhousie.  â€ŽHe holds an Honorary Doctorate from King’s.

 

Justice Bryson practised law as a barrister for 27 years with McInnes Cooper ‎. He lectured for many years in Equity and Trusts at Dalhousie law school . He is an Honorary Fellow at King's, where he occasionally lectures on art history. Appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2000, and to the Supreme court of Nova Scotia in 2009, he was elevated to the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal in 2010. 

 

Justice Bryson currently chairs the Advisory Committee for Judicial Appointments and the Queen's Counsel Appointments Committee for the Province of Nova Scotia. He also chairs the Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee for the Maritime Provinces.
